Select visual mutations and hidden carrier splits for each parent. Calculate expected offspring colors, sex distribution, and split ratios using Mendelian Punnett squares.
* Avian rule: Females carry ZW chromosomes and cannot be split for sex-linked traits (Ino, Cinnamon, etc.).
The calculator crosses visible mutations and hidden carrier splits across independent loci using Mendelian Punnett square laws, combining autosomal and Z-linked sex-linked inheritance models.
In avian genetics, females have ZW sex chromosomes while males are ZZ. Sex-linked traits like Ino, Cinnamon, and Opaline reside on the Z chromosome. Because hens possess only one Z chromosome, they visually display the trait or do not carry it at all; being split is biologically impossible for females.
