Disease Symptoms in Birds
By nature, budgies tend to hide their illnesses. Therefore, by the time symptoms appear, the disease is usually advanced. The most common symptoms are:
- Keeping their feathers constantly fluffy (an effort to maintain body temperature)
- Sleeping or inactivity on the cage floor
- Not eating or drinking too much water
- Change in stool form (watery diarrhea or bloody stools)
💡 First Aid Tip
Immediately separate the sick bird from other birds (keep it in a quarantine cage) and increase the ambient temperature to 28-30 degrees. Keep track of his feces by laying paper towels on the cage floor and consult an avian veterinarian without delay.
